Autumn Leaves

Made the following exposures in the parking lot of the Brandywine falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park during the Fall of 2015.

The title of this post reminds me of one of the boards that I saw outside Zoar Lutheran church in Perrysburg, OH, during the Fall of 2013.
It said “Autumn leaves, Jesus doesn’t !”.
Photograph no. 8 in my post Photo-walk in Perrysburg, OH shows the board.

One Fine Morning…

One fine morning I got up and opened the blinds. The spectacle that I saw in the sky held me spell bound. After the initial reverie was broken I rushed for my camera. The masterpiece was already painted by Him in the sky and all I had to do was trip the shutter.

[Update: I did my post-processing in the ProPhoto RGB space and saved the JPEG without first converting to sRGB. The result was a smothering of all the beautiful colors. I have now re-saved the JPEG, this time first converting to sRGB for web rendering. Both the photographs are presented below and the difference is literally night and day. For a nice synopsis on Color Space visit here.

For people who still cannot see the difference try reading this post on your iPhone/iPad or any other mobile/tablet. You will see how the first photograph looks dark and dull whereas the second looks colourful and vibrant]

Out Of My Office Window

What do you do when your ideas don’t work, code fails, numbers in the XL sheet don’t reconcile, you have a design review in the afternoon and you do not have idea what the requirements are…huh? Well I just walk to the office window and look over the Maumee river. The waters of Maumee exude their calming effect over you and your nerves tend to relax.

The following photographs were taken over several days (days when I was either bogged down by frustration or ennui) by my iPhone 4 camera and processed in Lightroom, processed in Lightroom on the iPhone 4! The last photograph has nothing to do with the Maumee, it’s just our office courtyard. 😀
