Autumn Leaves

Made the following exposures in the parking lot of the Brandywine falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park during the Fall of 2015.

The title of this post reminds me of one of the boards that I saw outside Zoar Lutheran church in Perrysburg, OH, during the Fall of 2013.
It said “Autumn leaves, Jesus doesn’t !”.
Photograph no. 8 in my post Photo-walk in Perrysburg, OH shows the board.

Everett Covered Bridge

I always wanted to see the historic covered bridges which were a quintessential part of the traditional Ohio landscape. I made my chance acquaintance with the Everett covered bridge on a chilly October evening. Showcased here are a couple of photographs of the encounter.

But before that some photographic ranting. Notice the ghosting in the first photograph, yes those yellow purple blobs on the roof of the bridge. It is an evidence of how poorly the Canon EF-S 10-18mm lens performs against bright light, in this case the setting sun behind the roof.

Legend has it that the ghost of Mr. John Gilson haunts the Everett covered bridge. So I reckon the “ghosting” that we see in the photograph cannot be fully attributed to poor lens performance. There might be something spooky going on here. 🙂

Brandywine Falls

Brandywine Falls is located in Brandywine, Ohio along Brandywine Creek which is a tributary of Cuyahoga River. Wikipedia saysThe rock layers of the 60-foot (18 m) Brandywine Falls can be read like a book“. A good geological page on the falls can be read here.
