Throwback to 2013; during the annual apple picking ritual.
This past Memorial Day weekend found us on the quaint and bucolic Mackinac island, MI. Couple of years ago (on Labour Day weekend) we had been on the island with the intention of going on the Pictured Rock Cruise in Munising, MI. However, due to some unfortunate turn of events (or should I say due to some unfortunate and incorrect turns shown to us by our GPS) we missed the cruise.
This time we can prepared with the maps and made sure that we got to do the cruise. The cruise over Lake Superior is simply breathtaking and the artwork, hewn by the elements over millions of years, is spectacular.
The odds were not entirely in our favour though. Weatherman had predicted a downpour during the entire two hours of our cruise. So carrying my camera was out of question. Wifey’s iPhone 7 Plus (water resistant and all) was then the only viable camera option.
During the first half of our cruise we journeyed under a cerulean sky with the sun smiling brightly on us. However, as soon as we turned and were on our return journey Mr. Captain (of the boat) announced that we were about to go right through the middle of the storm (lightning and all!). And indeed we were greeted by a hearty squall on our way back.
Nonetheless, we had accomplished what we came for, so no complaints there. Presented below are some of the photographs from that memorable cruise.
Somewhere in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
I was going through my picture library and found these photographs that I took on a very foggy October morning. Looked as if the fog descended on us to set the atmosphere for Halloween.
Saturday morning I and Samarth were playing in the living room. Suddenly I descried a bird, probably a Brown Thrasher, outside in the yard. A peculiar thing about it was that it was dead still. This piqued my curiosity. I thought probably it is about to peck out an insect or something. So holding my breath I awaited there anticipating action.
Forget about action, there was not even any movement for long time. Suspecting something was amiss I decided to have a “closer look”. I pulled out my camera and zoomed all the way. To my utter dismay I found out that it was not a bird afterall. It was just a bunch of withered leaves which looked like a bird from a distance. 😦
