Keystone Effect

Keystone effect or perspective distortion is caused by attempting to project an image onto a surface at an angle. For a nice and easy explanation (with photos) of this effect please click here.

The “Deepastambha” in one of the photos that I had taken at the Mangueshi Temple in Goa in Jan, 2007 appears to be tilted because of this effect. I used the Perspective tool in GIMP and corrected the tilted “Deepstambha”. I followed the perspective correction tutorial at this website.
